The research performed in the Science Education Laboratory centers around dusty plasmas, microplasmas, and plasma processing and is primarily student-centered.  Undergraduate and advanced high school students, along with select high school teachers plan all work, formulate research goals, assemble all apparatus, collaborate with scientists and engineers, critique and evaluate each other’s work, write papers, and make oral and poster presentations. Simultaneously, the Science Education Laboratory’s open layout for educational workshops fosters communication between participants, master teachers, and student researchers to create a unique learning environment for teachers and students of all abilities.
